Once the oils in your shingles start to dry out with age, you may see the granules flaking off in your gutters and downspouts. Roof Maxx® can turn things around for roofs as young as 6-8 years old and can also extend the life of roofs 15-20+ years old. Roof Maxx’s 100% natural, plant-based oil soaks into the asphalt layer of your shingles, replenishing petrochemicals oils that have evaporated over time. It rejuvenates the flexibility of the shingles and extends their life.
We will do a complete assessment of your roof, take lots of pictures and make sure the roof treatment service is right for you. We take pictures of your roof and areas of concern to include in your quote along with simple repair solutions if needed.
Before we treat your asphalt roof, we will perform a Roof Tune-Up. The focus will be on sealing flashing and vents that are bent or lifted, sealing exposed nail heads, and replacing failing or cracked plumbing pipe collars. If you have minor repairs, such as missing or damaged shingles we will take care of them as well.
We will apply the food-grade, plant-based product that’s completely safe for people, pets, plants, and the planet directly onto your asphalt shingle roof. Roof Maxx quickly penetrates into asphalt roof shingles in 30 – 60 minutes and won’t be affected by the elements after that. Any overspray is easily washed off by rain or a garden hose and won’t stain or leave any residue on siding, concrete, or other building materials.
The Roof Maxx® treatment seeps into dried out shingles and rehydrates the asphalt with essential oil beads. This process restores flexibility so the shingle can contract and expand without breaking while reactivating the seal tabs on the shingles helping to extend the waterproofing protection. Similar to the soy technology used in Good Year tire, Roof Maxx® is a bio-solution product that was created in coordination the Ohio Soybean Council. The Ohio State University conducted a study combining with research from Battelle Memorial Institute and PRI Construction Materials Technology and found that Roof Maxx® treated shingles restored flexibility, durability, and permeability values close to that of a brand-new shingle.
